LGS creates technical components used by both manned and unmanned systems to provide continuous monitoring and surveillance of broadcast signals, imagery, and the presence of chemical and biological material.
Chemical, Biological, Radiation, Nuclear Energy (CBRNE): LGS solutions help to detect the presence of chemical and biological material through the use spectroscopic systems with multi-band lasers that illuminate a target area and measure the absorption of specific wavelengths of light. LGS systems compare that absorption against patterns known to be associated with specific molecules and, by process of elimination, accurately identify the presence of those molecules from a stand-off distance.
Video Surveillance: LGS designs, deploys, and maintains video networks for surveillance as well as multi-site collaboration and conferencing. These networks utilize both commercial and custom networking systems and software to collect, analyze, and disseminate video data.
Global Positioning Systems (GPS): LGS GPS solutions include antennas, radio elements, and software capable of collecting, analyzing, and producing intelligence regarding the presence of GPS signals, their transmission source, and other metadata. These solutions enable GPS to serve as a centralized timing source for military operations and networking systems.
Identification Friend or Foe (IFF): LGS RF radio elements, antennas, and software solutions serve to collect, locate, tag, and track the movement of personnel and assets in a dynamic environment, helping to identify forces as friendly or adversarial.
Infrared Vision: LGS infrared illuminators and receivers can analyze objects and provide situational awareness in low-light environments.
Radar/LIDAR: LGS fiber-based and fibreless optical amplifiers, receivers, and signal processing software can support LIDAR applications, and our RF signal generators, antennas, and signal analysis software can support radar missions.
Unmanned Vehicles: LGS software-defined radios, RF front-end systems, fixed and programmable antenna arrays, transmitters, receivers, and SIGINT systems provide command and control signaling to unmanned vehicles. Many of the SIGINT components described above are specifically designed for use on unmanned vehicles in the air, on land, at sea, and in space.
