Posted on: October 23, 2018

The judging committee for the WashingtonExec annual Pinnacle Award nominations has announced that LGS CEO Kevin Kelly is a Finalist for its “STEM Advocate of the Year” award and Linda Jones is a Finalist for the “EA of the Year (Private Company)” award.

According to WashingtonExec, the Pinnacle Awards recognize “executives who work every day to help their federal customers meet important missions” across 10 categories. The winners will be announced and recognized at an awards luncheon at the Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner on Nov. 1.

“I see this as a great honor not only for me, but really for all of us and the focus we put on STEM as a company, “Kevin says. “From our summer internship and recruiting programs with dozens of universities, to our financial sponsorships of LGSers who volunteer their time to promote STEM in their communities, to our scholarship programs, direct donations, and other programs, we try to do our part to foster tomorrow’s engineers.”

Linda Jones was nominated for her exceptional management skills during this time of rapid growth for LGS. Not only does she manage our CEO, but also extends professionalism and effectiveness in overseeing the Board meeting schedules and a variety of corporate-wide activities and events, such as our quarterly Town Halls, corporate parties, and picnics.

“Linda plays a vital role in keeping me and the senior leadership team organized and focused,” Kevin says. “She basically plays the role of ‘Chief of Staff’ at LGS, helping to ensure that the SLT remains on the same page as we continue to execute against our strategic and tactical operations plans.”

The judging committee for the WashingtonExec annual Pinnacle Award nominations recently announced the list of award finalists, which included executives across government and industry.  Finalists included two of our own: LGS Innovations CEO Kevin Kelly was named a Finalist for the “STEM Advocate of the Year” award, and Linda Jones, Mr. Kelly’s executive administrator, is a Finalist in the “EA of the Year (Private Company)” category.

According to WashTech, the Pinnacle Awards recognize “executives who work every day to help their federal customers meet important missions.” This is the inaugural year for the Pinnacle Awards, and 125 nominations were received across 10 categories. The winners will be announced and recognized at an awards luncheon at the Ritz Carlton Tysons Corner on November 1, 2018.

“Being named a finalist is a great honor,” Kelly says. “Rather than simply being a recognition of my own contributions, I see it as recognition of all the STEM support programs that LGS Innovations as a company puts forward every year. From our summer internship and recruiting programs with dozens of universities, to our scholarship programs, to our financial sponsorship of LGS employees who volunteer their time to promote STEM in their communities, we put a strong focus on doing our part to foster tomorrow’s engineers.”

As a finalist for EA of the Year, Ms. Jones was nominated for her exceptional management of the LGS Innovations senior leadership team during the recent years of rapid growth for the company.

“Ms. Jones’s professionalism and effectiveness in overseeing our executive team’s operations – as well as our Board of Directors, its subcommittees, and a variety of corporate-level activities and events – have been instrumental in ensuring that LGS leadership stays on the same page as we continue to execute against our strategic and tactical operations plans,” said Kelly.
