LGS Innovations has won a contract worth at least $49 million to help update a U.S. Army communications facility intended to be the branch’s central information systems hub in Southwest Asia.

The Herndon, Va.-based subsidiary of Alcatel-Lucent facility will act as the exclusive contractor for engineering, installing and testing the Army’s network and voice infrastructure, LGS said Wednesday.
