Wherever you find an LGS Innovations office around the world, you’ll find employees who volunteer their time to help their communities. In addition to the many ways in which LGS employees support STEM education programs in their local communities, our associates also pitch in to support the social services of the communities where we operate.
Many LGS offices participate in the United Way, Toys for Tots, various veterans charities, and other well-known national programs throughout the year. LGS employees also have a passion for local charities, participating in various fundraisers to benefit community nonprofits that provide food, shelter, transportation, financial counseling, utility assistance, and other services.
Our team in Westminster keeps up a robust schedule of community-related support programs. These include United Way campaigns as well as other fundraisers and volunteer efforts to support veterans through organizations such as the PTSD Foundation of America and the Freedom Service Dogs program. During back-to-school days, local schoolchildren benefit from the Westminster team’s backpack stuffing to support of A Precious Child, dedicated to helping children in Colorado reach their full potential.
The Westminster office is especially active during the year-end holidays, “when Want is keenly felt, and Abundance rejoices” (Dickens, A Christmas Carol). Through their Harvest Fest cook-offs and bake sales before Thanksgiving and their support of the Giving Tree to benefit substance abuse treatment programs in the Denver area, Westminster does the holidays right.
In Florham Park, LGSers have conducted bake sales to help those afflicted with Multiple Sclerosis and to support many local charities, blood drives to benefit the American Red Cross, recycling drives to “go Green,” fundraising programs to help special needs students, and collections for a local food pantry. On an individual level, some Florham Park team members join in local chorale groups to entertain senior citizens.
Our team in Lisle regularly hosts various fundraisers to help organizations such as Operation Support our Troops, the Feed My Starving Children charity, and local homeless shelters. Our Highpoint office has hosted the United Way CANpaign, combining a canned food collection with bake sale proceeds to help local families. LGS team members in Yongsan, South Korea participate in motorcycle Poker Runs to benefit special needs adults in their local community.
At our corporate headquarters in Herndon, LGS employees host Thanksgiving food drives, Toys for Tots, backpack stuffing parties, professional clothing drives, and other social service programs benefiting those in the Washington, D.C. and northern Virginia areas. These local programs can include “fun runs” to benefit veterans’ organizations such as Boulder Crest Retreat for wounded veterans in Loudoun County, VA, participating in “Movember” to benefit men’s health awareness, or joining fundraising golf tournaments that help wounded veterans get back on the fairway, as sponsored by our LGS Axios colleagues.
