LGS Innovations Launches STEM Scholarship Program
Posted on: November 9, 2015

LGS Innovations is offering five scholarships of $5,000 each to college juniors, seniors, or graduate-level students pursuing a STEM degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.

It is estimated that jobs in computer systems design and related services are projected to grow 45% by 2018, and the U.S. may be short by as many as three million high-skilled workers by 2018. LGS places great importance on raising national awareness of the need for STEM education, and supports crucial academic developmental skills in the sciences to help build the future of our country’s engineering workforce.

“At LGS we nurture an innovative, entrepreneurial approach to solving networking and communications challenges, and we believe that fostering a strong STEM foundation enables the next generation of innovators,” said Kevin Kelly, CEO of LGS Innovations.

To be eligible for the LGS STEM Scholarship Program, applicants must:

  • Be a current or rising college junior, senior, or graduate-level student with at least a 3.5 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent
  • Be enrolled (or plan to attend) as a full-time student in an ABET-accredited STEM program at an LGS-approved school during the 2016-2017 school year, working on a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics
