The LGS Applied Research & Technology (ART) team draws upon a diverse set of technical talent ranging across electrical engineering, computer science, and physics disciplines, particularly in Radio Frequency (RF) systems analysis and design, embedded software/hardware design and implementation, and digital signal processing for wireless applications, graphical user interface, and advanced visualization applications. LGS’ broad knowledge of advanced communications solutions, security solutions, and threat analysis expertise make LGS uniquely qualified to analyze the vulnerabilities of communications equipment utilized in Government and enterprise networks. A dedicated team of software and hardware engineers use their expertise to analyze commercial communications equipment and provide security recommendations, engineering enhancements, and configuration controls needed to ensure that equipment utilized in some of the most secure networks in the world are safe from intrusion.
LGS also offers CodeGuardian™ to enhance network assurance. CodeGuardian uses proprietary technology and processes to verify and validate the source code of network devices, mission critical applications, and IoT devices, hardening them against malware, backdoors, and other vulnerabilities.
LGS’ broad charter includes investigating and conducting research in security-related technology related to complex enterprise and carrier class networks, primarily focused on cyber-related activities, including network reconnaissance, secure communication, secure network integration, and fingerprinting. LGS also conducts cutting edge research in cyber-related tools / techniques, machine learning, networking technologies, and network protocols.
LGS maintains an advanced Internet Research Lab (IRL) that serves as a cybersecurity technology development and test facility for cyber-related systems, tools, technologies, and processes. The IRL network can be configured to emulate various network architectures to research, develop, deploy, and test network facilities. The resulting insights help LGS Innovations identify threats and risks that could potentially harm a network, allowing LGS to develop products, services, and solutions to prevent such attacks in a real-world setting.
LGS also provides cyber network security and performance enhancements for in government operated fiber networks. This activity includes research, design, and development of state-of-the-art optical fiber networks and next-generation high-speed encryption to provide secure operational and performance enhancement solutions to Government-operated networks.
For the most sensitive projects and missions, LGS Innovations maintains a multidisciplinary team focused on manufacturing, assembling, and providing quality control on a wide array of solutions provided to Government customers. This team is dedicated to ensuring that aggressive mission schedules are met in the most efficient way. LGS has built up advanced manufacturing management technologies and can support both limited prototype runs of a small number of solutions all the way to production runs of the largest and most complex solutions provided by LGS.
In addition to providing leading edge research and development for the Government, LGS Innovations also provides worldwide support to our customer missions. This support includes providing full life-cycle support, logistics support, CONOP and TTP development, as well as advanced training on technologies needed for the most complex missions. This support is provided on a worldwide basis on short notice as required to support ongoing missions. In addition, LGS provides QRC field modifications and rebuilding of severely damaged equipment, enabling customers to maintain the operational state of critical missions.
