LGS Innovations’ Networking Solutions Services for voice, data, and video include:
Delivering Networking Solutions Services to LGS Innovations Customers
The Iraqi Railroad Digital Microwave Radio Communications Network Program
LGS Innovations provided turnkey voice and data telecommunications deployment to the Iraqi Republic Railroad (IRR) under the Digital Microwave Radio Communications Network (DMRCN) Project, spanning 1,200 miles and interconnecting 33 major sites and stations across Iraq’s railroad system. This work required the team to navigate a hostile work environment with limited existing communications while effectively managing logistics, subcontractors, and changes to the scope of the project.
The Networking Solutions Services team provided the customer with overall project management, engineering, procurement, security assessments, in-country logistics support, installation, testing, and operations and maintenance. In addition, LGS Innovations provided the customer with network integration services to ensure existing communications equipment and services operated with new equipment, and to integrate the digital microwave radio network with the IRR’s Computer-Based Train Control (CBTC) system.
The LGS Innovations network integrators employed a synchronized network integration scheduling and resource management process to simultaneously plan and conduct site surveys, requirements engineering, ordering, material management, site preparation, installation, test, and acceptance activities in order to successfully optimize productivity and minimize labor costs at the 33 sites.
LGS Innovations’ exceptional performance, customer support, and commitment to the finishing the project during continued conflict resulted in the U.S. Government awarding the company with an additional related project for ongoing maintenance, training, and transition support.
Infrastructure Modernization: Turnkey Technology Refresh at
Camp Zama, Japan
LGS Innovations implemented full turnkey Infrastructure Modernization (IMOD) data services to more than 3,000 users over an area of approximately 1,800 acres at Camp Zama, Japan. The services provided included procurement, testing and evaluation, certification and accreditation, information systems engineering and integration, technical instruction, engineering surveys, installation support, operations and maintenance, project management, technical support, systems/network administration, security, and quality control. In addition, LGS Innovations navigated existing infrastructure and coordinated with planned base events to ensure minimal disruption or interference to the customer during network transformation.
Based upon six successful I3MP and IMOD projects ranging from Japan to Korea, Hawaii, and Alaska, LGS Innovations has a solid understanding of the implementation complexities and risk management considerations across the Asia Pacific Theater. As the prime contractor for IMOD support, LGS Innovations has provided overall program management and solution development, and has either provided or managed a wide variety of technology design, network integration, and installation activities including ISP/OSP, site preparation, data, voice, video, wireless networking, testing, Information Assurance (IA), and training and maintenance.
The LGS Innovations network integration experts followed the Army’s standard Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) methodology for I3MP/IMOD projects based upon the established Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) management metrics for each task. The project was delivered within the fixed prices for the contract and Government-requested Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and contract modifications. In an effort to control project cost, the LGS Innovations consultants conducted an extensive joint engineering site survey to verify technical, construction, and installation requirements prior to final design and equipment/material procurement.
Utilizing a proven network transformation implementation methodology based on discovering and resolving problems early, the LGS Innovations team was able to proactively identify and correct discrepancies, minimizing implementation delays. By staying on schedule and synchronizing the project with the planned base mission activities at Camp Zama, LGS Innovations was not only able to avoid customer disruption and inconvenience, but also to keep program costs within the specifications of the Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. LGS Innovations successfully implemented the total design for each task order in accordance with the contract requirements on schedule.
