VitalQIP Appliance Manager (AM)

The LGS Innovations solution for complex networks in critical need of reliable, secure and low cost address allocation and management, VitalQIP AM addresses the shift in the IP Address Management (IPAM) market to appliances for increased reliability, manageability, scalability and security.

VitalQIP AM includes Appliance Management Software (AMS), the Enterprise Server Module (ESM) and the Appliance Management Module (AMM). AMS is used to manage the appliances in the network; ESM provides VitalQIP enterprise services, such as the IP Address Management functions, user interface and centralized database support; and AMM provides VitalQIP remote services, including DNS, DHCP, SNMP and other services. The AMS is available on an appliance or can also be downloaded and installed on existing hardware.

The Vital QIP Appliance Management Hardware Platforms are briefly described below:

• AMS VitalQIP Appliance Management Software: management station software that runs on a Linux-based hardware server
• Alcatel-Lucent VitalQIP Appliance Manager 1000 Platform: a 1RU balanced server platform based on dual-core Intel Xeon processors utilizing a “Green” dual-core processing, dual independent bus architecture, and a 64-bit architecture; it provides the base for the following appliances:
  • AMS 1000: VitalQIP Appliance Management Software (AMS) Appliance
  • ESM 1000: VitalQIP Enterprise Server Module (ESM) Appliance
  • AMM 1000: VitalQIP Appliance Management Module (AMM) Appliance
• Alcatel-Lucent VitalQIP Appliance Manager 500 Platform: a desktop appliance suited for small office applications where cost, noise and size are primary concerns; provides the base for the following appliances:
  • AMS 500: VitalQIP Appliance Management Software (AMS) Appliance
  • AMM 500: VitalQIP Appliance Management Module (AMM) Appliance
• Alcatel-Lucent VitalQIP Appliance Manager 5000 Platform: high-end appliance platform that provides NEBS-3, RAID-1 and ETSI-compliance for the VitalQIP Appliance Manager product family.
