7210 Service Access Switch

Designed for smaller central offices, distributed hub sites, and the customer edge, the Alcatel-Lucent 7210 Service Access Switch (SAS) portfolio of compact, Ethernet-edge and aggregation devices enables advanced Carrier Ethernet services to the customer edge and extends the reach of MPLS-enabled Carrier Ethernet aggregation networks into smaller network locations. With platform capabilities that include Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), 10GigE uplinks, hierarchical quality of services (H-QoS), advanced OAM toolkit, leading resiliency and synchronization capabilities and support for extended temperature range environments, the 7210 SAS is an integral component in the delivery of differentiated services over Carrier Ethernet networks.

As a member of the industry-leading Service Router (SR) product portfolio, the 7210 SAS leverages the powerful Service Router Operating System (SR OS) and the 5620 Service Aware Manager (SAM) to provide seamless integration with comprehensive MPLS-enabled Carrier Ethernet aggregation and IP/MPLS solutions from Alcatel-Lucent.

Enabling service differentiation based on quality of service, OAM, reliability and management, the Alcatel-Lucent 7210 SAS is designed to deliver innovative Carrier Ethernet VPN services that support demanding applications with stringent service level agreements (SLAs) that can be managed directly to the customer edge.

For consolidated business and Ethernet-centric mobile applications, the MEF 9 and MEF 14 certified 7210 SAS extends MPLS-enabled Carrier Ethernet aggregation infrastructures into smaller agency offices and hub sites while cost-optimizing build- outs.

Available in six models (SAS-D, SAS-D Extended Temperature, SAS-E, SAS-M, SAS-M Extended Temperature and SAS-X), the 7210 SAS has the flexibility to enable government agencies to build out cost-optimized Carrier Ethernet infrastructure for the delivery of mobile and other services to provide agencies with an information advantage that can be applied to its missions.

Benefits include:

  • Support advanced enterprise applications through the delivery of innovative VPN services
  • Cost-effective consolidation of business- and Ethernet-centric mobile services in smaller network locations on a compact, MPLS-enabled Carrier Ethernet platform
  • Maximize operational efficiency and service assurance using the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM and Alcatel-Lucent 5650 CPAM to ensure accurate end-to-end SLA performance measurement and control, rapid troubleshooting and customizable end-user and operator portals
