Linda Braun

Dr. Linda Braun joined Lucent Technologies, Bell Labs in 1999 (now LGS Innovations), working on photonic and optical systems. In August of 2000, she became Technical Manager of the Optical Component Reliability Group, and in February 2009 she became the Director of the Photonics Applications and Development Department. She has served as the program manager for both industrial and government contracts valued at more than $50 million.

Dr. Braun obtained her B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Ceramic Science and Materials Engineering from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 1984, 1987, and 1990, respectively. She began her professional career in 1990, when she joined the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD working on the reliability of brittle materials. In 1998, she became Group Leader, responsible for directing research and development in materials and component reliability.

Dr. Braun has authored more than 30 technical publications and holds two patents.
